Merry Christmas!!

We have a typical "Norwegian Christmas" with food. The typical Norwegian selibretian is that we sing songs and we go around the christmas tree and so on..... We give gifts and we have kind of the "small christmas" and it's the first and then we have the "big christmas" wich is the first one...

Why does we selibrate Christmas?-
Christmas is the Christian church's celebration of Jesus' birthday. Though we celebrate the day in late December, we do not know for sure when Jesus was born.
A number of historians have looked into the matter and concluded that he was probably born in the spring, perhaps in March. Maybe he was not even born in the year 0, but six years later. Or a completely different time.

The original date of the celebration in Eastern Christianity was January 6. But we have it on the 24 and 25 Desember, and in many countries: January 7, 8, or 19...
"Christmas" is a compound word originating in the term "Christ's Mass". It is derived from the Middle English Cristemasse. Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus. The celebratory customs associated in various countries with Christmas have a mix of pre-Christian, Christian, and secular themes and origins..

I think everyone in Norway celibrates Chirstmas even if they are not Christians..The name derives from the Old Norse July celebration of "Jól" or "jólablót", from the original, pagan sacrificial celebration of midwinter day in Scandinavia, which was added 12 January. Hakon the Good commanded the 900 centry.

Here in Norway (where I live) we have the last day (or one week) before Christmas on Friday (20).
And what everyone like to drink is a typical "norwegian drink" "gløgg".

And what we eat is:

GOD JUL OG GODT NYTTÅR!!!!!!! :)

Teenager post !

Tests and presentations!!

Many in my class and so on have asked our teachers why we have so many testes and presentations before Christmas. So I just want to say what I mean with that, like we have so many tests before Christmas and it's because we are getting our report cards after Christmas.

Here in my school from 8th-10th grade we have like so many testes before Christmas and before summer, because we are getting our first report card and the second before summer.

We have really many tests before Christmas because, the teachers will see how much we can about the subject. And if we get bad marks on a test can they compare with all our athor tests. If we get two in a test, you can get up one notch if you have had 3 and 4 on the other.

And we have presentations also get to see how our oral inserts are.
National tests are also important. It is actually the most important. National tests are just a test of how much you have learned from the first grade-7grade and then you get test it, and they will test what we have linearly from forje years. Here in Norway we only have national tests in Norwegian and math.....

And btw: it's 11.12.13 today!! Awsome :D

Crime in my city

Crime in my city often happens in the evenings. And it's not so many crime in Oslo or Norway now. And it's a decrease in crime at 3.3 percent, while the average processing time has increased by 4 days compared with the same period last year.

It's moost children who do it. And there are many who beg in Oslo city. Those who do are mostly from Romania, the beggar but we do not know if they are doing well or doing it on purpose?

There committed approximately 30-40 murders in Norway annually, this varies from year to year. It's not so much crime in Norway now, but it's qind of some at the evening. It's most children who do it and when they are doing it are they teiken som wallets and stuf like that.We can protect ourselves but when it is about seven young people together in a group of people it is a bit hard to protect themselves and tell it to do security not well, and it is 57 percent of all crimes in Norway.

The detection rate increased from 36.1 to 37.5 percent last year. But the largest category, gain, says police at a standstill by 14.6 percentage

(So Ritika is in India now, she dumped me completely so I have to do all the work by myself :P )

Winter in Norway

Hey,

Luckily, The winter has come very late this year in Norway.
I like winter, but I don't like the transition from autumn to winter. Suddenly, it becomes so cold...brrr.
When the snow finally starts to fall, then I can finally ski. I love skiing. It's an old saying that "Norwegian are born with ski". The white snow covers the landscape like a white sheet. The snow falls slowly, slowly like small crystals.

In Norway, it's many popular activities her like alpine, skating, sledding and many more.
You can see kids everywhere with their sledge, and it's sometimes funny to see a kid fall from his/her sledge.

I like to drink hot chocolate with cream and crushed chocolates when it's very cold. It becomes so cold that I feel that my tongue will just freeze.

In summer's you can see greenery here, and Norway's greenery is worth seeing.
Norway greenery's is often compared with Switzerland.

I like the lights on the streets at christmas. It gives you a good vibe. If I have to choose which country decorates the streets in the best way then I'll choose England. The lights in London always brighten up the street. It's not that I don't like the lights in Norway...it's just that I like England's best.

In winters it can be upto -32 celcius, and in summmers it can be upto 26 celcius (if we are lucky).

From North-Norway you can see the north light also known as "Aurora". It's so beautiful to see it. I hope I can see it someday, but not this year, because I am going to travel to India.

North light is light displayed in the
sky particularly in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions.

Winter in Norway!!

Hey

It's so annoying, every time 2 days before my birthday it's like so cold here. In Norway winter is starting in October-November but this year its not in November or October. But that is a good news.
But its like so many activities in Norway when its snow:
1. Snowboard
2. Ski
3. Alpine
It's so many diffrent activities in the winter.....omg

But it's a huge difference between winter and summer here. In sommer it's like only 25-29 degrees. And in the winter, brrrrr it's like
-5 and -31. And the weater is the same like fall and winter. In fall it's quit cold but not so much as winter.
In winter it's so much snow, like you can't believe it.

In winter I always want to fly to Australia because it's summer there when it's winter here. And it's the same in summer, I always want to fly to India because it's 2 hot there.

Haugen school is COOL!

Hey!

My teacher forced us to write about my school...OKAAAAAAAAY!
Haugen school looks very old, but you know what they say "OLD is GOLD".
I can't say that the school is very cool, but the people who go there are very cool! From students to teachers! But, one thing that is not so cool is that we get tons of homework, and on top of that we are getting all our mid-terms in 1 WEEK! One round of applause to our teachers who think that we (students) are superhumans! Sometimes I just wonder why teachers eat our brains!
Yesterday,we got free from school so that we could use a whole day to bake and prepare dinner! This is just not fair!My parents had to eat the dinner and dessert, and they liked it (hopefully).
Anyways, I'm comforting myself with the tought that we are soon going to have a prom.
The 10th grade is going to arrange it, and they say that they are going to arrange "THE BEST PROM EVER"! We will see...

I am soon travelling to India, because I'm cousin is going to marry!!! Indian wedding is with a lot of pomp and show.First, you get the invitation card, but you'll ALWAYS meet uninvited guests. The uninvited guests always say that they are from the bride's or groom's side...mhmmm. You know that traditional fat Indian wedding! Everyone is dancing! Girls/Women are often seen with a lot of makup, and the funniest ting is that when they eat, they eat their makeup more than they eat their food. The bride looks like an angel, and the groom looks like a goat...just kidding! In an Indian wedding you'll find that one guest who tries to look more beautiful than the bride/groom, and when you see that guest you think "Seriously! Is it your wedding?".

These days seems hazy to me. I'm always feeling sleepy (that so isn't me)! I feel hope it gets better with the amount of sleep:)

My Parents Reaction to Wrecking Ball (Miley Cyrus)

Are you in a bad mood? Then this is the video for you!
Are you in a good mood? The you just have to watch this!! This is HILARIOUS!

Weird things happen....

Hi,

Long time no see...
Well, many things can change your life within two weeks! Financial crisis can spread around the world...NOT!

What has changed in your life? Give it a thought!

I got two silver medals in badminton! Yeah!

I have celbrated Diwali. Diwali is the festival of lights, and is celebrated by sikhs and hindus.

I made this!!! Colorful, isn't it?

"On this special day, as you celebrate valor and courage, triumph of good over evil...I wish you success and happiness in everything you do".

The worst thing that can happen in your life is that you can't go to a halloween party just because you have to do homework! Ugh!
I didn't even get chocolates! Can you imagine! But, the good thing is that I stole from my younger sister :) They got tons of candies, chocolates and toffees.

Yesterday,I had a meeting with my parents and my teachers and it was like "Hello, Mr. Jaswal (my dad)! It's nice to meet you again", so AWKAWRD!

Meeting with the Norwegian teacher:
Teacher:"She is good, but she can talk a bit more!"
I couldn't utter a word, but I was thinking "Seriously! If I don't talk then I'm sure that nobody talks"
My dad: Ok!I don't think that she's shy...
Me: Okaaaaaaaay!

If you ever had a meeting with your teachers then you'll also know that it's always a teacher that looks intense at you (like without winking). And that teacher will never say anything negative, but the way the teacher looks at you...you know you'll cry!

Meeting with the Math teacher:
Teacher: Can I be a better teacher?
Me:(shake my head, and looks at the floor, and I don't utter a word, because the teacher stares at you)
Well, everyone has to get through this!

I'm reading a book called "Desiland" by Mala Naveen. The book is about the generation gaps in an Indian-Norwegian family.
It's a book with a lot of drama, and I don't like it, but it's so thrilling that I just had to read the book.

Can you please suggest a book for me? Please leave a comment below :)

But the most importan is that I was on development conversation with mom and teacher, omg I was so nervous but my teacher just said like good things than, but one of my teacher, omg i just died.. hihi..

And one of my teachers so with the big eyes and drifted and stared to look at me, hahah I died.
And after that my teacer was like: "Okey you have to go now, the other students are waiting"
And my mom was like: "Bye, nice to met you (she said something in Arabic)"

And I was thinking: wtf? Seriously?!? Our teacher is not from Turkey, he cant speak Arabic!
After that my mom said bye and so on, my teacher said by in Arabic and I was like woow.. And then they started to talk and I was there and was thinking again: Seriously?!

But our teachers is so funny, hhhaah! omg :)
And for those peolpe who are thinking that my mom is Arabian, no she is only Indian. She was born in Kuwait and she lived there in 15 years, thats why.

Wednesday!

Hi everyone,
This is Ritika:)

I'm having "international cooperation", and I'm trying to find some penpals (which seems impossible).
The awkward feeling you get when you are trying to find the right penpal among millions. When I find one then I get insecure about how that person is going to be...will that person be kind? Will that person be honest? Or tell lies?

I had Math and Education in religions today, and it was very interesting. Our math teacher was trying to make us see how "the beauty of math" really is. Our very "religious" teacher was telling the whole story about buddhism (like who the founder is and so on).
And now I am having a vicar in international subject. She is very kind, but she is not talkative.

I love to watch Superwoman videos...

I will post some videoes by SUPERWOMAN later...
